Sometimes, I wonder what do our youth need to show their talents. We have classes for every thing *not really, but yeah* but we don't see any good improvement. Talented people can be counted on our fingers. Let's look into what are the talents we usually see: Photography? Painting or drawing? Guitar? Designing? that's the majority of what I see. I see other talents too, but a very few of them.
What's the talent/hobby of the youth now? Blogging.
Why blogging? because it is a trend.
Why does everything have to be a trend for us to do it? Why do people need to blog so that we can blog? Why do people have to wear Hijab so that we can all do? Why don't everyone of us create his own identity and do what WE want to do not what the society or whats surrounding us force us to do?
I understand, its really difficult to start off something which no one have ever done before. To be honest, most of the time you'll be surrounded by negative people who wont allow you to do what ever you are willing to do but you need to be strong enough to handle all the negativity with your positivity.
The reason which drove me into writing this are the blogs which are everywhere by the khaleeji's. It is not something bad, bl3ks, I am really proud of them that they have had the courage to write and continue writing. But what is not good is, the similarity between the blogs. I don't think love stories and romance is something appropriate according to what our society believes, it is true but why do we have to reflect THIS type of stories only?
I wouldn't say I do not read those blogs, I do and it is for fun to break the routine at times. I wish to read a successful story, an experience, or anything else but not a love story. I wish to see new talents because I believe they exist. I wish that people start doing what they love to do and not what the trend in the world is.
Following what people do wont give you the attention you are seeking for or make you different, being yourself and doing what you love to do is what will make you different.
To all those who once thought or still think they are good at nothing I would like to tell them this:
You are good at something you still don't know about. Give yourself time to discover yourself. If you already did and found nothing it only proves that the way you did it wasn't right.
To all those who have a talent and are just to afraid to show it:
Fight your fears and go for it because no one will do it as perfect as you do.
Be yourself. Do what you love to do. I'll be there for you.
